Frequently Asked Questions
Can my kids’ IQ change?
The IQ of children changes over time due to brain plasticity. The results of any IQ tests, even professionally administrated ones, can vary significantly until late teens or early 20s. So if you took this IQ test for kids, font expect the score to remain constant over next several years. It can change significantly over the child’s development period.
What is the right age for child IQ testing?
The age is less important than the reason. The IQ test should be taken with a specific purpose- like diagnosing a learning disability. Many schools have a point system for determining which difficulty level students are assigned to. It can be standard, basic, honor, special education, gifted and talented, etc. To best help a child it is not unusual for students to be assigned to special education in one subject and gifted and talented in another.
IQ tests for children are great for evaluating skills and weaknesses in a person. If the kid is great at performing arts but bad at verbal skills, that can help teachers immensely in figuring out how best to connect with a student.
Generally IQ tests below a certain age are normed badly and don’t mean much. If your 2 year old is a genius, so what?
IQ tests may also be taken over time to determine developmental delays and if the child is “catching up” to their age group.
What if my Child’s IQ is low?
Albert Einstein famously stated: “Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.”
IQ is valuable. But there is a plenty of evidence that success in life depends on many other parameters as well. For example, emotional intelligence is one. Social skills and ability to sense the situation is a key leadership trait. If your child doesn’t have an IQ of a theoretical physicist, he might have an EQ of a US president, who knows. It is a responsibility of parents to identify key strengths of their children and guide them to suitable avenues in life.
Hardwork can easily compensate for higher IQ. Stability at home, friendships and relationship with bright kids, proper diet and exercise: all these parameters impact a child’s psychological development.
Is there a scientific proof that IQ is correlated with success in life?
Yes. Significant research has been done in the topic which clearly establishes the correlation. Here is one such study that showed that five years old kids in a preschool who scored higher on IQ and other standardized tests had higher incomes at the age of 40. These children had lower crime rates and better overall quality of life.
Does genetic play a role in intelligence?
Research studies indicate that both environmental and genetic factors play a role in intelligence.
However, studies have not yet identified any genes that underlie differences in intelligence. It is likely that a large number of genes are involved, each of which makes only a small contribution to a person’s intelligence.
Intelligence is also strongly influenced by the environment. Factors related to a child’s home environment and parenting, education and availability of learning resources, and nutrition, among others, all contribute to intelligence. A person’s environment and genes influence each other, and it can be challenging to classify the effects of the environment from those of genetics. For example, if a child’s IQ is similar to that of his or her parents, is that similarity due to genetic factors passed down from parent to child, to shared environmental factors, or (most likely) to a combination of both?

Why do I have to pay for the test?
Answer: Please note that we have added a payment of $19.99 at the end of the test to avoid abuse of the system by bots and non-serious test takers. As IQ results are compared with all previous test takers (IQ is related with percentiles), non-serious test takers and bots risk corrupting our database. Thank you for your understanding.
